Starting salary not worth it for deli clerks for the work they do.

    Pros

Benefits are a plus. Raises are based on clock hours not on performance. Chance to move up in within the Kroger company. Kroger has groceries across the united states so you can transfer and move if needed. Paid every week.

    Cons

Starting rate for deli clerk is low for the work they do. Picking up slack from co workers who don't work as hard don't really get recognition or paid more if you work harder than others. Full time only for assistant and managers. Hours are different every week. Odd hours they give you. Have to be in one department for 6 months even if you don't like it before you can apply for a different department which isn't a 100% guarantee you will be able to switch.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show more praise to the harder workers. Talk about advancements and how to approach it to the hard workers. Have sit downs with workers and ask how they are doing and what can be improved to make it a better place for them to stay and think of having a long term career within the kroger company.

Get treated like a doormat by customers and management.

    Pros

Pay is okay for a part time job. Many of the co-workers are really nice.

    Cons

Management writes up employees for petty stuff. Customers are petty also about complaints and clerks are held responsible for it. The problem is these big corporations have become un-American. There is no respect for the employee. They get treated like doormats. Some customers come in to take advantage of the store and are allowed to get away with it so the honest customers pay higher prices to compensate for the scammers.

When management wants to fire you they will cook up ways to do it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-join the American culture and un-join the big corporate socialist mentality. Big corporations are socialistic in nature and are inclined to oppress those at the bottom. The United States will not survive as a nation when all there is are big corporations.
