Pros

The opportunity to create a new Freddie Mac Information Technology from the ground up. There are clear opportunities for advancement and recognition for individuals who can identify fully sustainable solutions to complex information technology issues. The ability to take an idea of a solution to the problem and in most cases having that idea heard, discussed, and debated fairly.

Overall the mission of Freddie Mac (despite the recent troubles) still serves as an important one in this country. I believe providing a fair market for home ownership in this country is an excellent mission and one that you can be proud of supporting.

Cons

The lack of clear direction. The drive to put out fires in the lawn when the house is burning down. The long hours and expectations on individuals and teams that have been working non-stop and full steam for two plus years in full remediation mode.

Advice to Senior Management

Understand that sometimes the only sustainable solution to the issue is to step back and identify and tackle the root problem.
