Pros

The mission and the people are the most compelling reasons. The people at Freddie Mac are some of the most intelligent, hard working and inspirational individuals I have ever worked with.

Cons

Beauracracy - employees are not empowered to make their own decisions. The corporate culture is extremely risk adverse and unwilling or unable to make decisions or adapt to change quickly.

Advice to Senior Management

Empower your employees to make decisions without having to go through the chain of command for every minor issue. In order to survive in the future the company needs to become more nimble and responsive to customer needs. Currently that is not happening.
