    Pros

Interesting industry, great benefits and very capable co-workers. Top management is attempting to turn things around and create a more dynamic and efficient organization.

    Cons

Despite management's mission to change the culture of Freddie Mac, it still operates similar to that of any other stereotypical government agency. Still too much bureaucracy to feel you can make any real difference on your own. There is a culture clash between those who have been at Freddie Mac for many years and those who came on after conservatorship. My experience has been that long-term employees often like to minimize, micromanage or withhold information from newer employees to make themselves feel like they have the upper hand. One's experience at Freddie Mac greatly depends on what division and department one ends up in.

    Advice to Management

If you really value everyone's opinion on how to improve the organization, create incentives that reward creative thinking or managers who listen to the suggestions of all direct reports.
