I worked at Freddie Mac full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

The pay is pretty good compared to other non financial company.

Cons

The work is meaningless. There are a lot of control departments such as internal audit to check oversight department and oversight department checks model department and external auditor such as PWC to check every department in the company. What a joke!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

This place is hopeless. Most of the executive officers are out for money not trying to do the right thing anyway.

I have been working at Freddie Mac full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great locations
    Attractive benefits
    Some super smart people

    Cons

The office politics are usuall zero-sum. People don't get paid a lot so power is about who controls the biggest parts of the business
The mix of super smart people with mediocre management can be frustrating
Good ideas die in a field of buracracy where managers seem to get paid to say no.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perfect is the enemy of good. Consider trying good ideas and adjusting instead of killing good ideas because they're not perfect.
