I worked at Fresenius Medical Care - North America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Layback environment. Plenty of parking.

    Cons

No recognition, no rewarding. Generally, for the same position, Fresenius's salary is $10k lower than other companies in the same industry. Very little chance for advancement. If you get a promotion, your salary would only increase 2-3%, but your work and responsibility increase much more. Sound like what happened to George Costanza?

Lots of nasty fights among the upper management. Even at the employee level, it is hard to ignore it and focus on the work.

It is a unique industry. The skill you developed there may not be transferable to other jobs. The company does not care about "employee loyalty".

Poor benefit. 6 holiday, no sick leave. At the flu season, you hear coughing here and there across the hallway. Horrible! Having over 80k employee worldwide, most of those in North America, Fresenius should have strong negotiation power for employee benefits. Its health insurance has the highest co-pay. Under that policy, the maximum out of pocket for delivery
    is $10K. No kidding.

I worked at Fresenius Medical Care - North America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Extending the productive lives of people with kidney failure is great work. Fresenius is growing both organically and via aquisition, and growth creates opportunities. Good pay & beneftis.

    Cons

Any U.S. company producing medical devices and/or pharma products is subject to strict compliance with FDA regulations. There is, justifiably, significant pressure to avoid errors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay true to the well-established Core Values of the Company.
