Pros

Continuing Education has improved staff ability to relate to the patients. Patients are allowed to express their concerns and ask questions. Personal growth from setting up a program of education for patients predialyis and post.

Cons

Challenges of how to keep your job even though you feel like you are giving your best each day. Would love to see better salaries.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would love to see time set aside for management to talk with staff in order to understand their needs & problems.

Medicare cuts + greedy executives = bad place to work

I worked at Fresenius Medical Care - North America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule (sometimes), fun coworkers.

    Cons

2% maximum raise each year (except for director level and higher). Constantly adding additional tasks to job description with no change in hours or pay. Very low starting pay attracts only those without the necessary qualifications. Clinical management refuses Needed repairs and upgrades, then blames the biomedical department for the aftermath.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about how the actions you take now may affect the road ahead. Yes, 30k is a lot to spend on chairs, but how much does it cost when medicare shuts a clinic down for the condition it's in? The yearly cuts in benefits cause good employees to leave and the bad to stay. Don't tell employees they'll only get a 2% raise after a record year, and then show up in a limousine to visit a high performing clinic.

I have been working at Fresenius Medical Care - North America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are quite good in the whole scheme of things, health, excellent PTO, extended sick leave, discounts on mobile providers and life/car/home insurance, discounts on apple products, dell products, and so much more.

    Cons

Fresenius is a HUGE healthcare company which makes it very slow to implement ANY kind of change. It will be reorganizing just like many other healthcare companies very soon due to Medicare cuts and the changing healthcare reform.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to make the effort to lead their teams effectively and efficiently all while increasing morale and team building to keep a " well oiled machine".
