I have been working at FreshPoint full-time

Pros

Great benefits being a part of Sysco. A great starting point, I've learned so much being a part of this company from fixed assets to account reconciliations and budgeting.

Cons

Not very well structured, communication within branches is lacking, which leads to lots of screw ups. Sysco outsourced their IT department recently so getting anything done when email, Internet, or as400 goes wrong, good luck calling India.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate more and when things need to be changed do something about it.

    I worked at FreshPoint full-time

    Pros

I got a chance to see some of the most despicable and nasty restaurants in the DFW Metroplex so i now eat at home more often. THANKS!

    Cons

Freshpoint Dallas is about as structured and organized as a Walmart $5 dollar DVD bin! This best describes the company from management side to route delivery!

Freshpoint will invest in top-notch equipment (trucks), advertisement skins on the equipment, TeleNav navigational GPS, Drive-cams, and new stylish uniforms for all employees; however, they invest very little in their employees. The employees are truly the asset of the company so management needs to invest more money on the employees and less on marketing swag! A new employee will start at a salary of $13.50 per hour flat rate and after ninety (90) days they are reduced to “ABC incentive” and this is where the FUN begins! $11.00 per hour with limited incentive….unless you want to stay at work from daylight-to-dark 6 days per week! They have little regard for anything more than MONEY…..they are profit motivated!

They preach SAFETY as a big ticket item; however, management needs to consider a few safety items:

~The driver is so pre-occupied with the Drive-cam that simple bumps on the roadway or dips can cause the driver to divert his/her attention to the drive-camera (NARC-CAM) and not the roadway! SAFETY ISSUE.

~ They place TeleNav GPS systems in all of the trucks, another diversion from keeping one’s eyes on the roadway! SAFETY ISSUE.

~ Management is fully aware some drivers are driving fatigued because of excessive workloads and challenging time deadlines…..way over the eight (8) hour limit set by the DOT! BIG SAFETY ISSUE!

I have a close friend who is a DOT Officer and I am submitting a formal complaint to the DOT regarding driver’s operating in excess of DOT regulations regarding, thereby creating a reasonable threat to others on the roadway because of driver fatigue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What can you tell a Management Team that has a philosophy of placing MONEY over the real assets of the company, the EMPLOYEES!
