I have been working at Friendly's Ice Cream part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Life experiences, decent food, decent tips for a sub-Bob Evans level restaurant.

    Cons

Terrible hours, excessive workplace drama, and being constantly understaffed and under supplied due to a combination of draconian use of hourly expenditure software and terrible oversight procedures employed by franchise owners. Also, a gunshy atmosphere in regards to firing problem employees, associated with a fear of then having to pay them overtime, leading to a glut of terrible servers and grill cooks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow GMs to make decisions about what products are needed to meet demand without excessive oversight of budget-terrified Upper Management. It frequently results in stores running out of any number of products and consequently a lower level of customer satisfaction, leading to fewer sales, higher prices, fewer hours to distribute and thus fewer employees doing even more work.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
