I have been working at Frost & Sullivan

Pros

Ability to get good market knowledge about various topics within an industry
Nice working environment, very young and dynamic
Quickly growing markets (in Africa) with lots of opportunities for growth - and thus strong need for market research and consulting

Cons

Salary package not very competitive (no fringe benefits)
Not enough on-the-job training
Internal procedures and red tape can be burdensome

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to simplify work procedures and improve internal software/tools/materials used.
Offer better salary package (including medical aid and pension fund), similar to the industry.

I have been working at Frost & Sullivan

    Pros

Excellent team environment and great support. Huge network to draw resources from.
Work is interesting and varying. And one day is never the same as the next. Topics and case studies keep you stimulated.
Senior management are very supportive and highly knowledgable
External social activities contribute well towards team building efforts
    Working with high profile clients

    Cons

Low salary in relation to other companies operating within the same industry.
Package does not offer benefits, like medical and provident fund or pension fund (should be basic offering)
Micro-management at times due to pressure of deadlines and lack of trust.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Packages should be on par, and competitive, with other companies in the consulting and research field
Benefits, such as medical and provident, should be a standard offering, especially when working for a global company
Staff members who are able to manage themselves should be left to do so. Micro-management tends to hamper their performance, as opposed to the perceived impression it gives of "driving" it.
Company should look at supporting staff who wish to improve their skills set by means of further studies
