I worked at Fry full-time

Pros

Impressive ecommerce platform. Excellent place for developers to work. Work with very prestigious clients and brands.

Cons

Micros took over and so the original Fry culture gone. Huge eccomerce brain drain has occurred. Long term viability is questionable.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Integrate the multichannel product suite and become more competitive in the marketplace.

I worked at Fry full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people. Interesting and fairly diverse clients. Plenty of work that tends not to be monotonous. A history of e-commerce leadership.

    Cons

High attrition due to a change in culture. Parent company, Micros-Retail is imposing old-style corporate-think that expects equipment to be more valuable and irreplaceable than talented employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People need to be invested in. If you wish to have any standing in e-commerce you need to be able to capitalize on new technology and rapid projects. Invest in product development processes and try to keep up with industry-standard software and tools.
