Pros

Exciting technology, good benefits and they have a great lunch program! Seriously, they provide lunch everyday for the entire office. Really good catering service.

Cons

Weird Utah based Culture. Executive management team is new and clueless

Used to be amazing, but not as fun lately.

I worked at Fusion-io full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Onsite gourmet lunch, annual engineering summits, and amazing products. Benefits were very competitive with other companies. Co-workers were wonderful, committed, and did everything in their power to help new people.

    Cons

After the upper level management change, the company had a bit of a different feel. Less concern for employee's work/life balance. Hiring freeze seemed to result in an abundance of interns and a drain of skilled/experienced staff. IT management seemed to be pushing as much as possible to hosted services (i.e., e-mail changed to office365 without any input from internal Linux users).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work life balance needs to be considered. Often, it seemed like management felt they were doing us a favor by employing us. Middle-level management had little or no respect for real life struggles of staff (not all mid-level management suffered from this, some of them were very good).

I have been working at Fusion-io for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits are good, time off is good as well with paid holidays on top.

Great perks range from free lunches every day in the company cafe to having good colleagues.

The technology is amazing and not hard to find people interested in wanting to know more.

    Cons

No path for career development (at least within my department). Because the company is going through growing pains, the changes are constant and there's no ability to gain momentum within a comp plan before they lump changes on you that weigh down your ability to hit a number and make money.

Slow to have a clear plan for change, and slower to implement those changes fully.

No ability to work from home even though everything I do can be done from there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Values of the company are great. No plan for personal employee development and needs to be more clear communication of initiatives and roadmaps.
