Pros

The learning experience is good but does not extend beyond the first year.

Cons

Not a place togrow at all. Management is unapproacheable and get upset easily when there is an issue which is very common. HR is even worse and not helpful at all. Pay scale could be improved. Benefits (tuituion assistance, day offs) are rarely approved.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up. We know you are knowledgeable but don't keep it to yourself, Share a bit without boasting. Not everything is about the bottom... talk to your employee so they will get you what you want. Benefits need improvement. Give some break to SWEs.

    3. Employee turnover rate is somewhat high.
    4. Transitioning to a more agile company presents a few issues in structural re-org.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior Managers need to pay direct attention to the feedback provided by employees. Sometimes the vision you may have needs to incorporate the internal experiences and ideas of your workforce. Recognize that if your present mission or strategic plan has flaws that if may be time for change and improvement. A company is only as successful as its employee’s productive capacity. Sometimes it proves beneficial to listen to the little people.

I have been working at GCE

    Pros

-Fast paced work place where you are consistently challenged.
-Opportunity to learn a great deal about IT, databases, financial management systems.
-Opportunity to advance to higher positions.
-Helpful cowokers and seniors who guide you throughout your tenure.
-Engaging atmosphere where you never feel isolated.
-A steep learning curve which makes the work all the more rewarding.
    -Young, energetic, and willing staff.
    -Competitive pay and benefits.

    Cons

-Staffing is an issue, teams are oftentimes over extended which means issues get ignored and clients are then dissatisfied.
-Conflict of interest between providing a staffed and functional help desk and moving
help desk members on to higher positions.
-Over ambitious promises to clients while not tending to staffing needs.
-Takes new employees too long before they can contribute.
-Greater transparency from management of what is expected of employees.
-Better structure so senior management can focus on bigger picture items.
    -Better work life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best advice I can provide to management is to enhance its resource planning. There are so many talented people here that are over extended. Improving staffing would go a long way to improving the work environment. Better communication between management and teams should also be an area of focus. Not everyone responds well to being chastised in front of their peers. I think leadership is committed and I do see a concerted effort to improve overall operations.
