I have been working at GE Aviation

    Pros

I am well paid, I love my work, we have talented people to work with in this organisation.
We have always been a very capable organization, and an excellent place to learn the aerospace business.

    Cons

Political intigue, in-fighting among management, rudderless GE ship.
"Process" has become more important than "Results".
GE is using Grand Rapids as a place to promote GE insiders from elswhere to, at the expense of local, experienced talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to look objectively at what is going on here before it is too late to fix it.

I have been working at GE Aviation

    Pros

The benefits package is great, and certainly the name recognition is nice. Since GE is such a large entity it is fairly easy to move between sites, so a dissatisfying job at one location can be traded for something more exciting at another site without having to switch companies. The vacation plan is good, although it could be better.

    Cons

A wage freeze was recently initiated. There is a general culture where employees are expendable. And certainly a lack of dedication tom employee development, management is slow to push for improvements and training. Vacation is a use it or lose it thing, and there is no flexibility with comp time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is too much bureaucracy. A significant amount of time id devoted to check the box training and compliance with internal regulations.
