No opinion of CEO

I worked at GE Aviation as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

hands-on technical work experience, good team members that were supportive, good pay for an intern position, flexible hours, overtime, subsidized housing/travel costs, inclusive atmosphere, incentives for being healthy (food, gym, etc)

Cons

Takes two weeks to get everything settled (software downloads require approval by at least two upper-level executives), big projects can be frustrating when other teams aren't on the same page

Advice to Management

Make the internship program more structured, and try to find a faster way to make setting up the computers/ software

I worked at GE Aviation as an intern

    Pros

Intelligent, driven, business-savvy, passionate, helpful, and nurturing people are the biggest asset here. As an intern, I was mentored several times and had the opportunity to work with the best, brightest, and most experienced people in the Jet Industry. I learned more about global business, shop operations, design practice, and strategy than I ever expected for one summer. #1 - People are second to none #2 - GE is the #1 Jet Engine Maker in the world - coming in every day is an honor and makes you feel proud of what you are doing #3 - Bright history, exciting present opportunities, and future growth #4 - Cross - functional opportunities in Shops, Design Halls, and high-level Business meetings, as an intern! It is inspiring to see a jet roll out of the factory every day when you leave work!

    Cons

Large organization takes some time to learn.

    Advice to Management

Keep current level of EID hires Inspire employees with more events with customers, plant flyovers - these boost morale Maybe a way for interns to plan to get a greenbelt as part of their assignment
