I worked at GE Capital

Pros

Management is great. Very helpful in the sense of helping one move up into potential senior management roles. Fast paced working environment and a lot to learn in a little time.

Cons

There is not really much of a downside that I found with my time at GE. Just a lot of competition in regards to moving up to a senior management role, but it is not impossible either.

Brutal with no work/life balance; politics & fear dominate

I have been working at GE Capital

    Pros

Decent pay which is usually competitive with the market

    Cons

The worst work/life balance you are likely to encounter; the amount of overtime work required is unreasonable and Finance positions in particular are structured to stretch employees to an unfair extent. Finance often does not play a sufficent "business partner" role and is more administrative in nature rather than strategic. Decisions are governed primarily by politics and fear and employee morale is uniformly bad due to resentment felt by the inhumane conditions; employees at SPB level especially are simply expected to sacrifice personal time to an infinite extent, even on weekends. This company is like a corporate human rights violation.
