    Pros

Employee development, training & learning opportunities. Excellent reputation (prospects will usually take your call). GE is so diverse in terms of markets and businesses, you can diversify your career into GE industrial/technology divisions.

    Cons

GE announced that it is reducing its reliance on financial services so GE Capital is shrinking. A company that's not growing translates into limited career opportunities. Management indecision driven by uncertainty about banking regulations.

    Advice to Management

Bite the bullet and shrink faster ... then articulate a clear strategy and execute

  2. Great people to work with, very challenging - lack of corporate vision

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

-People are motivated and hard working
-A lot of opportunities to learn
-It used to be easy to move functionally or geographically (still can be, if you are a "top talent")

    Cons

-Salaries are average unless you really fight for an increase every year
-Its all about the shareholder, not the stakeholder or employees
-Lack of vision outside of US - where is GE Capital going? What is the strategy?
-Related to the lack of vision, the message externally is all about growth - internally its all about downsizing

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to job satisfaction and not just the bottom line. Create a long term vision and stay the course, rather than shifting with the wind and chasing short term gain.
