Former Employee - Global Supply Chain Finance in Waukesha, WI

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

- Great exposure to working cross-functionally and culturally
- Investment in training and offers new grads rotational programs
- A lot of continuous improvement and innovative ideas to approach business problems
- Policy deployment and standard operating procedures focus
- Technological and intellectual capital driven

Cons

- Company hires new talent, "burns" them out and lays them off in cycles
- Don't look to make a long career here without sacrificing personal values or "playing the game"
- Not family friendly other than the 1 x per year community reach-out events
- Very politically driven
- Not many people last in this organization, so it is hard to keep references/referrals
- Temporary mind-set

Former Employee - Quality and Regulatory Leadership Intern in Waukesha, WI

I worked at GE Healthcare as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Very good career path and opportunities. Good mentoring and coaching. There are a lot of very talented people at GE. Well recognized as one of the best places to start a career. Despite its reputation, I found very reasonable work-life balance at GE.

    Cons

GE no longer offers best in class or even competitive salaries (compared to other F-50 companies like P&G, GE, United Technologies, etc) so the quality of new hires is not best in class anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Return to the management style of Jack Welsh which made GE the most valuable company in the world.
