Current Employee - Senior Manager  in  Milwaukee, WI
Current Employee - Senior Manager in Milwaukee, WI

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Many opportunities
Great place to network - if you can put the time and effort into it
Great post-retirement

Cons

When it is time to do a RIF... they will cut heads without look at what roles are being cut
Always driving for a quarterly number and will totally change direction to make the quarter
At times... too big for their own good!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many senior roles are filled with staff that have spent their entire career at GE… we tend to be incestuous! GE needs staff from outside the four walls and more staff that have voice of the customer experience.

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Brilliant engineers, global exposure, leadership training, ability to form a large and effective network, fun celebration events that build a sense of family

    Cons

Manage by meetings, always under staffed, short term vision only - very focused on the immediate quarter, very poor program execution, unrealistic scheduling that force teams in to hiding information about realistic progress

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower your program team and realistically work with the schedules, staff realistically to provide both time to market and fantastic quality
