Pros

Brilliant engineers, global exposure, leadership training, ability to form a large and effective network, fun celebration events that build a sense of family

Cons

Manage by meetings, always under staffed, short term vision only - very focused on the immediate quarter, very poor program execution, unrealistic scheduling that force teams in to hiding information about realistic progress

Empower your program team and realistically work with the schedules, staff realistically to provide both time to market and fantastic quality

    Managers are good because GE invests a lot of training in them.
    Newer technology is available.
    Decent benefits, but I have seen better.

    Managers move from role to role a lot.
    Frequent changes in rules, organization, methods.
    Conflicting information about the strength of the company is given to the employees.

    Pros

    Great people to work with, excellent benefits, & a very professional company. They are very big into encouraging volunteerism and back it up by providing time and opportunities to participate. Also are very dedicated to employee health and have a formal program (HealthAhead) to encourage healthy lifestyles.

    Cons

    Communication by upper mgt of the long term direction of the product I supported was pretty vague upon my departure. Was somewhat frustrating and could make it difficult to provide support to our client base.

    I would have liked to see clearer communication of direction for my business unit. Was very vague my last year with the company.
