Typical bureaucracy: low pay, lots of red tape, no gratitude, no upward mobility.

I have been working at GE Power & Water full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Clean water will always be needed.

Cons

GE's Cost of Living raises do not coincide with inflation. You make less every year you stay with GE. GE's pay is not competitive with other local employers such as Boeing or Microsoft.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. Pay them what they're worth. Live up to the would-be GE integrity clause. And also, get rid of SAP -- it's killing the business.

I have been working at GE Power & Water

    Pros

Flexible hours are nice. The pension plan is great. It is nice to work for a company that is making a difference.

    Cons

Pay is below average. Over worked have to do the job of two people. Health insurance stinks. The deductible is more than what I pay for medical services in an average year with no insurance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve pay to average pay for the area and hire enough people to do the task assigned. The health insurance sucks, it really needs to be improved.
