Positive Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at GE Power & Water as a contractor (More than a year)

Pros

Fair practice, for those who are full time. Benefits are good, pay as well

Cons

I was hired on contract basis. One year up and out for at least 6 months. I really dislike the idea that there never seems to be any full time positions posted. As well, I think that 6 months is a long time to be absent before a new contract becomes available.

Advice to Management

Include the agency people in what goes on within. We are just a worthy of a holiday, X-mas party invite and any other benefit. Hire some temps. We've proven time and time again, we are loyal and committed. Worked tons of overtime.

    Pros

Good pay, good training, high caliber coworkers, clean office, good retirement and 401K match, interesting nuclear work and travel. aid holidays and some benefits still good.

    Cons

they gutted the healthcare, over worked due to required training, and short project schedules. Projects underfunded and ill-concieved by business managers. Field work difficult. Terrible politics between east coast and west coast facilities

    Advice to Management

Impliment a good mentoring program. Be honest with employees about how they are evaluated/ranked. Listen to the engineers with tools/products are not read for field use, despite passing testing.
