Current Employee – been working at GE

Pros – In general management is very good. There are a lot of training opportunities within the company for individual contributors. Pay seems ok.

Cons – Offshore IT folks are a disaster, GE gets the cheapest offshore folks they can, projects often take 10 times the time they should. Healthcare benifits are really poor for a large company having a baby is very expensive.

Advice to Senior Management – Fix the IT software development processes. In my experience this is more a matter of getting the right peopel then new initiaves. Reduce the buerarcracy
