A Soul Destroying Copmany To Work For

Sales (Current Employee)
London, England (UK)

ProsYou can stick GE on your resume which seems to help open doors on job offers elsewhere. The company is stable, for now. During these precarious economic times, at least you have that peace of mind, although it doesn't stop GE from making numerous redundancies when they want to keep those double digit growth figures.

ConsYour work/life balance will go out the window. 15-hour days are normal (sales role) and that excludes weekend working. Most management appear self-serving and box tickers. Whatever it takes for them to move on up the ladder. Game players get promotion, hard workers get very little, burn out and leave through frustration, or because they have nothing left to give. In GE, you are just a number (SSO) easily disposed off once your exhaustion gets the better of you.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet off your butts and stop sending out useless junk emails as a means to demonstrate you are actually trying to do something towards earning your paycheck. Trying earning your living instead of freeloading off the hard work off the whipped to death sales force. Remember, good staff are your most precious and valuable asset. Even with years of training, you can never guarantee an equiavlent or better replacement for someone who just walked out that door. I do exactly that next week and will be joing your major competitor. After >14 years with the company, I can't wait to see the back of GE. I will miss my colleagues at area level, but that is about it.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
