I have been working at GE full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

You can have a good work balance

Cons

This company will only promote people that will do the dirty work not the one's that take care of the customer. They promote the people the like regardless if they can do the work.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you talk it then walk it. Treat people how you want to be treated.

I have been working at GE full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent exposure to various learning opportunities and businesses ranging from: aircraft engine manufacturing, locomotive manufacturing, financial services, healthcare manufacturing, software development, energy services (wind/water/power manufacturing), and more.

    Cons

Not the meritocracy we were promised from a salary perspective. GE is terrible with incentive's for retaining their top talent, and as a result most leave once they discover their earning potential elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on strategies for retaining top talent, as once they get wise to the fiscal opportunities outside the company, they will most certainly leave, as evident by the already large - and growing - turnover rate of top talent personnel.
