I have been working at GE as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Large company (can be pro or con), networking, high expectations, interesting work.

Cons

Large company, unresponsive to change, arrogant staff, "sucking up" required.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to be more open to change, way too many legacy systems/processes (both technical and business) that are holding the company back. In addition, politics is too big a part of GE culture. A certain degree of politics can be expected anywhere... But at GE it is cutthroat and you are required to play the game to get ahead. Your work means very little compared to who you know, more so than anywhere else I have ever worked.
