Current Employee - Electrical Engineer in Niskayuna, NY

I have been working at GE full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Diverse areas of research, academic-like environment, flexibility, freedom for new ideas, lots of learning opportunities, good job security, nice area for living

    Cons

The hierarchy may be too flat, such that there are less opportunities for promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create more opportunities for new/young people. Not everybody follow the same career path or at the same pace. Give those who wish to advance chances to shine. You may be surprised (in a good way). Be more open to new ideas, even the far-fetched ones.
