I have been working at GE full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

- Sheer size & scale of operations
- Great internal leadership programs such as FMP, CAS etc.
- Generally intelligent & driven employees

Cons

- Fed oversight bearing heavily on productivity, creativity & profitability at GE Capital
- Industrial side of business not growing earnings quickly enough
- Tax as one of top 5 P&L's by net income: probably sustainable, not equitable
- Too inward-looking at all but highest levels

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix Healthcare business, open Crotonville up to lower-level employees

    Pros

Strong leadership, excellent training, extremely strong senior leadership. Highly technical company that manufactures goods in the United States.

    Cons

Bureaucracy. Your value in the company is dependent on your ability to network across a web of stakeholders. May not be a good fit for some.
