I worked at GE as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Brand Name
    Competitive Pay
Lots of great learning experiences outside of the day-to-day tasks
    Challenging

    Cons

    Red Tape everywhere
Lack of consistency throughout the company
Some groups can be very disorganized due to relatively quick turnover among leadership (avg time between either vertical or horizontal movement is 2 years)
    Lots of finger pointing
Very little motivation from other employees (not in FMP) who are working in the lower tiers of the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase Accountability
Motivate the uninterested people at the lower levels of the organization
    Simplification of processes

I have been working at GE full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The people are very good. There is a lot of talent here. The company has the resources to bring new products to market and to stay on the cutting edge.

    Cons

Company spends too much time focusing on shareholders and not enough time focusing on customers and employees. Benefits have gone downhill tremendously over last ten years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are only here as long as our customers continue to purchase from us. Make it easier on them.
