Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good place to work

    I worked at GE

    Pros

Overall, GE had a good work atmosphere. People were willing to help you understand something that was handed off to you without much prior knowledge. There were great opportunities for promotion (or at least lateral movements in the org-chart that came with higher pay) and branching to new fields of work.

    Cons

Because GE is a large corporation with many separate departments, the red tape involved with implementing process improvements can be cumbersome.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer clear and direct leadership especially pertaining to development project priorities. Limited time and money must be properly allocated and it is important to plan for the longterm how each program will progress throughout the year.

    I worked at GE

    Pros

Good opportunity to advance if you're at all competent.
    Good cafeteria food
Good name. People think the program is prestigious

    Cons

    Horribly easy. Not challenging.
Most of the work force has no interest in their job.
    It's a 9-5.
It's in the middle of nowhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Kick your employees butts. Most of them work one hour a day, and you're ultimately the one paying for it. They detract from the vigor of the rest of the workface.
