Pros

Employee Discounts is about all!

Cons

The management is allowed to insult and belittle their employees and have no respect for what they do. For minimum wage, the insults and disrespect are not at all worth it. They accuse you for anything and everything and if the manager doesn't like you they just fire you before the probation period is over, just so they don't have to work with someone who can sell better than they do.
They expect you to hit numbers that make no sense and sell products to customers that they don't need. They lie to your face and tell you how great of a job you do and then behind your back insult and look for ways to let you go. Is this really a company that values the customer? No, it is bent on sales that are not needed and products the customer shouldn't use. The RSD is clueless as are the SSM's in this company, they think they know everything and sadly their numbers are not to par. But they are busy doing other things so they don't have time. Except for the fact that their are higher up managers that can accomplish their numbers. I really do enjoy the job, but hate going into work there. For minimum wage, this job is not worth the headaches that come with it. Career advancement doesn't happen as they say and it is full of empty promises.

Advice to Management

Readvise your goals, they make no sense and are not beneficial to the customer in the least. Exspecially the OMS goals, talking with a nutritionist will let you know that none of these chews actually benefit a person, so just another lie to the customer that they expect for continued employment.

    Pros

Great working with customer's and helping people reach their health and physique goals, especially working with young athletes. The interaction you have with the customers is thee number one reason to work at GNC.

    Cons

Very little training in the operation's side of things. I received very little in the way of training and the proper way of store set up and planograms etc. The communication between store management and regional management is horrible. RSD would be very hard to get a hold of. Also pay store assoc. only min. wage, which makes it hard to keep employees.

    Advice to Management

Need to make sure that your RSD's actually take the time to fully train store managers. Aslo improve the communication between upper management and the store level.

    Pros

    Employee discount
Get to talk to a lot of different people
    Good practice for sales

    Cons

Required to push certain products; need to meet loose quotas with no commission incentive
Have to wear dress clothes and a tie at all times (for a minimum wage job??)
    No sitting allowed

    Advice to Management

Loosen it up! Open up the dress code to GNC T-shirts that you provide to your workers.
