I have been working at GNC part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Employee discount; customer service if you are actually interested in health and helping people.

Cons

Meeting sales goals. The goals are too high and associates are pressured to show products that are specifically GNC instead of products the customer actually needs.

Advice to Management

Reduce the sales goals. The employees work hard and after doing their best we fall short of a very high goal that us near unachievable. And provide work shirts. We shouldn't have to supply our own at a minimum wage job.

    Advice to Management

    Make Operations goals just as serious as sales goals. If the company is more than just sales then make everything just as important so the employees are truly accountable.

    Pros

    Great working with customer's and helping people reach their health and physique goals, especially working with young athletes. The interaction you have with the customers is thee number one reason to work at GNC.

    Cons

    Very little training in the operation's side of things. I received very little in the way of training and the proper way of store set up and planograms etc. The communication between store management and regional management is horrible. RSD would be very hard to get a hold of. Also pay store assoc. only min. wage, which makes it hard to keep employees.

    Advice to Management

    Need to make sure that your RSD's actually take the time to fully train store managers. Aslo improve the communication between upper management and the store level.
