Former Employee - Senior Store Manager in Little Rock, AR

I worked at GNC full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

learn a lot about what it takes to run a store. Have different responsibilities everyday. Help people become more health conscious. Once you're in management, it's not too bad.

    Cons

corporate expectations can be too unrealistic and demanding. Having to re-do half of the store's planograms every month instead of focusing on customers. not enough payroll. Part timers are taken advantage of the worst.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to others. Take into consideration that everyone is different. So the previous supervisor may have been telling everyone something totally different than your expectations are on how you want things done.

I worked at GNC full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There isn't much pro's unless you truly enjoy an extra 5% discount for high priced supplements.

    Cons

Low pay with no benefits (unless you're a manager, you'll have no more than 29 hours a week, to keep the company from giving benefits), high stressed sales focused more on numbers than customer wants. And extremely bad management to say the least(See all other reviews). Constantly see people come and go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to what people have to say. Bodybuulding.com and smaller shops willing to match prices are killing your business.
