I have been working at GS5, LLC full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Good perks for athletes (gym membership) and sports fans (tickets to games).
Management stays out of your hair when they're not needed.
Cash bonuses are handed out more frequently than I've seen with other contracting firms.
Management will bend over backwards for an employee if they value him/her.
Bonus for referring new business (1% of new contract).

Cons

More paperwork required for annual reviews than I've seen with other contracting firms (but not considerably more).
Cash bonuses, while issued more frequently, are smaller than I've seen with other contracting firms.
No opportunity to invest in the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to grow the business.
Consider some form of Employee Stock Purchase and/or Profit Sharing program, to give employees a bigger stake in the company's success.

    Pros

    Small company atmosphere -- the president and directors know everyone by name. Management practices open-door policy. Nice perks like sports tickets and monthly lunches out. Good salary, friendly coworkers and decent benefits. Involved in several charities. The company is looking to grow quickly.

    Cons

    Small company atmosphere -- the company is looking for aggressive growth, and senior management seems very focused on "the next big thing" rather than the present. Ill-defined career progression. Questionable employee hiring and promotion -- the company may be growing too quickly to fill new positions with the most qualified personnel. Young owners still learning the subtleties of running a company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more selective in hiring. Being able to staff contracts immediately may be good in the short term, but the company reputation and growth will suffer in the future if the best people aren't brought on board from the start.
