Pros

Good people who are willing to go above and beyond personally and professionally
Great building - it's great but feels kind of empty
Parties and stuff - get some good parties and bands in for events

Cons

Settling for just OK - whereas most agencies seem to want to push it, GSD&M seems fine to just do as their told
Lack of vision - I've heard "in the old days" there was a sense of where things were going. Don't see that anymore.
A lot of senior people who just seem to be getting by -

    I worked at GSD&M full-time

    Pros

It's across the street from the largest Whole Foods. Located in Austin, TX, which is a pretty great town (although the rate of people moving there is kind of ruining it's appeal). GSD&M is a well known company around town.

    Cons

No one fights for good work. They pitch horrible clients who want bad, uncreative work. Absolutely some of the worst creative leadership I've ever seen. All the senior level creatives are best bros (notice I said bros, not too many ladies in power there) so some of the talent that should have otherwise been weeded out by now have stuck around because they don't want to fire their friends. Bad pay. Bad hours. Stodgy, stale and outdated environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start managing. Mentorship for lower levels could help produce a happier work environment.
