- Disapproves of CEO
“Dysfunctional on almost all levels”
I worked at GSI Group
Pros – Flexible toward work / life balance, great employees, decent teamwork ethic, highly intelligent engineers, okay benefits, convenient location, nice facility
Cons – Senior management destroyed this company through an extremely risky, debt-laden acquisition just as the economy started to tank in 2008. Current CEO has destroyed a company that took decades to build. His absentee leadership has driven this company into a ditch and epitomizes all that is wrong with American corporate leadership. As a result, staff is demoralized, mandatory furloughs are common, as well as pay and benefit cuts. Add on top a general decline in US based manufacturing and you have a perfect storm for a zombie, bankrupt company.
Advice to Senior Management – CEO please leave. You are not qualified to run this company and have long since lost the confidence of your team. Check out the stock price from about 2004 to now. The market agrees.
