The Family has ruined the company

Senior Consultant (Former Employee)
Omaha, NE

ProsFlexibility. Child care on site that is high quality. Great co-workers for the most part who are dedicated and smart.

Cons1. The expectation of working a minimum of 2,300 hours a year. This comes out to over 44 hours a week 52 weeks of the year. For people who are paid on profitability, working so many hours cuts into the profitability because you are adding cost to the projects on which you work. So the more you work, the less you actually get paid. 2. THE FAMILY. The underqualified son and daughters of one of the founders have taken their father's legacy and driven it into the ground. As one of my co-workers so aptly said years ago - blood is thicker than talent. They play favorites at every turn. Negativity in any form is a kiss of death to your career there. If telling the truth is preceived as negative in any way, you are driven out. 3. They do not treat employees in the same manner that they preach to their clients. 4. Q12, their signature product for employee development, is a sham. It does not measure employee emgagement as they claim, it merely measures management style. it's reliability is also suspect due to so few questions. It's a statistical mess and an embarrassment to present to clients. 5. The last year I worked there my salary was cut 30% due to a "new pay plan" even though I was producing the same as I had the year before. 6. It's a sweat shop. Work, work, work. Productivity is king and can never end. 7. Their selection criteria for employment is nearly impossible to meet. A person can be performing a job perfectly, but if they cannot pass the test for that job, they cannot continue in it even though their performance is known and that is what the test is supposed to predict. Ass backwards.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire an entirely new upper management team to clean the place up and live up to the vision of Don Clifton and the Gallup brothers. Honor their legacy by getting out of the way.

Pros: Great Co-Workers Interesting Work Great Ideas and Concepts-that aren't always applied Stresses Life… Cons: Pay by production doesn't allow for managers pulling you on and off projects. You can literally wind up working for free at times. Management doesn't… Advice to Senior Management: Don't be absurd enough to offer a Q12 and then explain that the questions asked need to be "interpreted" differently. You've got to (in the… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
