I have been working at GameStop full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Awesome customers and four days to try games for free. Employee discount on most items. Lots of independent work time.

    Cons

Too many tasks for the amount of labor hours allocated to the stores. There is too much emphasis on "Numbers" while not allowing the time we need to build trust with our customers to drive said "Numbers." I find myself working alone for up to 6 hours, with no opportunity to even go to the bathroom because we are given just enough hours to keep the store open during business hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your store associates. We have hit a breaking point. We need to have enough labor to schedule two people on the floor at ALL times. No one should ever have to work alone. Doing so creates an unsafe situation, increasing chances of loss of product and sales. Also, no one likes to be micro-managed.

I worked at GameStop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Its easy I guess? Working as a Game Advisor isn't hard. If you are enthusiastic about gaming it may be a different story.

    Cons

Its boring. I had little to do there, so I preoccupied myself with managing titles and cleaning. And that's supposed to be the assistant manager's duties. Also really low wage, but I guess That's due to the types of tasks expected of an employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to create more tasked when off hours take place. Otherwise you drone off.
