Former Employee - Senior Game Advisor  in  Pittsburgh, PA
Former Employee - Senior Game Advisor in Pittsburgh, PA

Pros

Surrounded by games, great people, and great environment.. What's not to love.

You're never working late, and if you do your job, everyday runs smooth.

Cons

Low pay since EBGames was bought. In my district, the district manager promoted Assistant managers to stores based on how much he liked you, and not skill. Management makes this company a college job and not something past that.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the skills of the employees and not how much you like them.

Current Employee - Store Manager  in  Atlanta, GA
Current Employee - Store Manager in Atlanta, GA

    Pros

Fun environment, it's great to be able to sell video games and talk about things you are passionate about. The people you work with are great people.

    Cons

Hours allotted to stores has always been low. This makes doing your operational tasks impossible to do within the allotted hours, forcing the store manager to work far more than the mandatory hours. Store associates are underpaid compared to the rest of the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is insulting when we are told how profitable the company is but we are given the minimum amount of hours the are given to stores. Be more mindful of issues such as these when dealing with the blood of the company.
