I have been working at Games Workshop full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

The job is FUN, every day you get to actively engage in your hobby with like minded individuals and have the joy of seeing happy faces of those you introduce to the hobby for the first time

Cons

Living hand to mouth as wages unless you can get the job of managing one of the top 20 stores at which point the wages become liveable

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Balance the wages between the smallest and largest stores

    Pros

Benefits package is outstanding. PTO (vacation/sick) is extremely generous. Cost of health insurance is the best I've seen at ANY company. eg. 80/20 plan is free to employees. 90/100 plan is $25.00 per pay period. Rx 's are free if they are generic.

    Cons

I don't see a lot of room to be promoted in my area, but the company is growing it's retail business

A great company with horrible US leadership and that doesn't know how to be itself.

    I worked at Games Workshop

    Pros

Games Workshop has one of the best benefits packages available to all employees and is filled with people who love the product and want to provide great customer service.

    Cons

The US retail leadership is horrible and only gives lip service to ideals and values of the company. They do not care about building a lasting company but only with having a good sales report on a month to month basis. They would rather lose good people and not take time to build something lasting if it will take longer than a few weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tom Kirby is blinded by the yes men withing the US retail leadership. This company could be great and truly expand as rapidly as it desires if it starts being honest with itself. If you want company values to drive the company than look at the results of the values you teach. If the bottom line matters most than let the managers do what is needed to get the sales results in their area and let them know that is what really counts.
