freedom in setting your own hours

Cons

Sadly, I had to be laid off because of the restructuring of the media business

    Pros

    - I definitely learned a lot while working at GMTI
    - Average Benefit package: 14 vacation days + health insurance + 401k

    Cons

    - No opportunities for professional growth at all.
    - No opportunities for career advancement: Within the Dev department, they have entry, junior(2-3 years experience) and then senior. If they have enough senior developers, they will never promote you to senior.
    - The pay is extremely mediocre, way below the median.
    - $500 bonus (This is Modern-Day Slavery). Only management get big bonuses by the end of the year.
    - Most developers put insane hours of work per week and NEVER get that time back.
    - There is no transparency in the company.
    - The only time you will get management attention is when you make a mistake.
    - There is no Recognition or praise when doing a good job
    - Poor Leadership abilities of Senior management: Most employees/management are ex-military and unfortunately they are running the company that way.
    - There is no employer support in balancing between work life and personal life
    - Promotions are barely given: If they "Promote" you, they will mainly do it for political reasons
    - There is no respect shown by Director of development toward employees

    Advice to Management

    Tech companies should never be run by working employees to death. This is the reason GMTI has been loosing talented people all these years.

    Pros

    Insanely flexible part time hours. Decent hourly if you're lucky with QA.

    Cons

    Weak pay structure if you're unlucky with QA. Only Part time. Constantly in Queue.

    Advice to Management

    Relook at your incentive structures.
