Pros

They train their employees well in both customer service and technology, very useful skills to have. Also have a very good employee discount.

Cons

Have to deal with customers.

    I worked at Geek Squad full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    -Fast Paced
    -Repair Tech's are always experiencing new viruses and troubleshooting demands, favorite part.
    -Okay money for a Retail Position

    Cons

    -Mostly still a sales position, so don't go into this if you're serious about hardware/software repair. Chances are you'll be selling services about 95% of the time when you start out.
    -Definitely a Fraternity environment, which can be a good or bad thing.
    -You can work at Geek Squad/Best Buy for 5 years and still have the same position. It's all about who you know and I know Crackle.
    -Even if you do excel in your job, the chances of upward mobility are pretty slim and there are literally 100's of other people in the organization going for that position too.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You can definitely tell which Best Buy's are fun to work at by the Management. It translates to happy employees and better sales in whole.

    I worked at Geek Squad full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Pay is fair from the start and does well to reflect the employee's work history.
    The discount is 5% above market price. Heavily marked up items like cables, mice, and in-house brands are extremely cheap.

    Cons

    Poor hours are provided for low-level employees, countering the decent pay.
    Raises are few and far between, rarely ever more than 10 cents, and don't reflect on the employee's efforts or skill.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Blue shirts managing Geek Squad. This leads to misunderstanding between the tech-savvy agents and the blue shirts. Favoritism is rampant, and Geek Squad are often unjustly punished because of blue shirt incoherence.
