rich resource, nice people, excellent view of the bay, a great place to work

Intern (Current Employee) South San Francisco, CA

ProsIt is one of the best pharmaceutical company in the U.S currently. Company is doing really well so the working environment, benefit are all quite good. Company, at least the department I worked at really focus on work-life balance, so it is pretty laid back working there. I barely saw people working overtime.

ConsBecause it is a very big company, lots of rules and training about safety and other stuff, it takes quite some of time. And you kind of get refined in your own little area, work is quite routine. Lack of chance to learn things out of your group and department

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Genentech as an intern for less than a year

Pros: -phenomenal industry reputation/respect/recognition -as an intern, super helpful in opening doors at companies/firms for interviews -unbelievable networking opportunities...if you work hard and link up with the… Cons: -not in a vibrant area...you're essentially locked inside campus during the workday, which is mildly boring for the younger crowd -in my opinion, way too big.… Advice to Senior Management: Well, I would say foster incentives that encourage younger employees to join the company and network with… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
