I have been working at General Atomics full-time for more than a year

Pros

One can take time off without pay to extend one's vacation time. On campus cafeteria serves good food. Campus is beautiful and well cared for.

Cons

In the middle of a heavy traffic corridor, so commutes are long. No lunch facilities nearby - only on campus cafeteria.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep up the good work. Keep the LWOP status.

The promise of a long term career shattered by a "good job, now we have to lay-you-off."

I worked at General Atomics full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

It is a very nice place to work, in addition to its location. Nice people to work with until the project budget runs out. Funding is always a dread for any company, and in this case, a group of good workers took the hit.

    Cons

No matter how good of a job you output, the praises by superiors, the bonuses, the merits, the excellent performance reviews, with this economy, it requires the extra mile to last longer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the upper cant count beans (budget) then the upper needs to be evaluated, not the workers who perform. Laying-off the lower to balance budget, is the most logical solution?
