Pros

C4S has had recent wins with WIN-T and JTRS demonstrating customer satisfaction and a capability to offer the most advanced off th shelf technology to the soldier - the company has a rich history and is well positioned with its launch on GDbroadband - it has also been figting hard for employees jobs and programs

Cons

Government spending has been down since 2008 which has impacted both C4S and the entire defense market however the company is strategically aligned to charge back - Adjacent markets need to continue to be a focus and investment for the company

Advice to Management

Keep looking for solid future acquisitions to grow - continue to reach out to employees individually and keep them updated on future plans for the company

    Pros

Most departments will work around school schedules. Flexible shifts are available in some departments. Some jobs allow for working from home.

    Cons

More and more benefits have been cut in the last couple of years. Not a lot of opportunities for advancement. No clear career guidance from managers.

    Advice to Management

Cut the poor performers and advance the hard working employees. Promote from within and take advantage of the experience. Middle and upper management are out of touch with their teams. Revamp the review process, the personal commitment program is out dated and a waste of company time and resources.

    Pros

An amazing mix of companies that allow almost anything to be accomplished in satcom, wind power, and scientific antennas. The company has seen a shift from a majority civilian jobs to a majority governement jobs since 9/11. The company earned a reputation for almost never firing anyone, so a stable place to work. The work culture and values were at a very high level in the recent past, but are dropping.

    Cons

Almost none of the upper management's vision is making its way down the chain. If indeed there is a vision. The company has suffered a "brain drain" of the best and brightest moving to other companies. A culture of acceptance of low salaries in compensation for sub-standard work is setting in.

    Advice to Management

Share a clear vision of the overall direction of the company. Require that your middle management refine that vision and share it to their teams.

Across the board salary freezes and 2% raises are killing employee moral and work ethic. Begin to reward real work performed and as hiring increases, let the poor performers go.
