I have been working at General Mills

    Pros

    Work life balance
Pension (for those who still have it)
    Rotational opportunities

    Cons

Salary not as competitive in functions outside of marketing
    Losing talented people
    Focus on results not relationships

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recruiting efforts need to be boosted. Outside of the marketing, the company seems to be losing to win over talented individuals and is settling for the local population from unknown institutions. I would advise that the company get back to hiring talent and not basing hiring decisions on 1. Do they like Minnesota? 2. Are they Minnesota nice? 3. Can they build relationships?
