ProsExciting time to be in IT at GM - a lot of opportunity to provide input and shape how IT is done. Career opportunities are great. Benefits and salary are good.

ConsManagement doesn't understand yet what it takes to be a workplace of choice for IT workers. No outside training or reimbursement for professional certifications, or professional organization dues, etc. No free coffee at work (bring your own K-Cups), work-from-home policy sporatic, long hours and no comp time policy, no free holiday parties or gifts/prizes - manty perks that experienced IT workers are accustomed to are not provided.

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement anonymous employee surveys to get honest input. Pay for employee certifications, and courses to maintain certifications. Support employee involvement and leadership in professional organizations.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
