Pros

Good pay, security, supportive rehab team. Family-like atmosphere in this small facility. "Salt of the earth" patients were rewarding to work with.

Cons

Productivity expectations in addition to incidental duties sometimes compromised patient care. This particular facility did not have adequate storage for wheelchairs and other equipment; rooms were small; and percentage of Medicaid patients high. Not true in all Genesis facilities.

Advice to Management

Realistic expectations for productivity plus additional duties. Higher across the board standards for facilities.

    Pros

Will hire new grads in a heartbeat and mold them into what they (Genesis Rehab) want them to be as therapists.

    Cons

90% productivity standard is hard enough for therapy assistants but for therapists it promotes fraud. No support from upper management. Focus of therapy is on maximizing profits no matter what instead of what's best for the patient. Knowingly use some PRN staff for evals who never set eyes on the resident. Upper management way out of touch with the real world of therapy. Use intimidation tactics to get results from therapy staff.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with the real world of therapy!!!

    Pros

    Great CNAs to work with.

    Cons

Management does not address staff concerns. High turnover rate. Low pay and high stress. Management treats staff unprofessionally.

    Advice to Management

Please pay the staff properly and staff the center adequately. Management is more concerned with budget than the patients' safety and their staffs' needs.
