If there are issues at your client site, be prepared to be blamed for it.

Pros

They have decent salary rates, and they work hard to get you placed at a client. Their location is good.

Cons

Do not apply here if you are looking for a software engineering position. G10 may say they're looking for software engineers in their Associates Program, but they hire people with Computer Science degrees and expect them to be consultants after a two week course. If the consultant has problems at their client site, they are expected to magically make it better.

For example, if there is no work for the consultant to do at the client site due to all of the management being too busy, the consultant is expected to start working anyway. This may work for project managers and project coordinators, but when it's a software engineering position or other computer-related job, the work requires learning the client's systems, development process, etc., while interfacing with the client's technology leads. If said technology leads are too busy to onboard a consultant, the G10 consultant is blamed for lack of progress.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring software engineers for the Associates Program, or create a separate program for software engineers, because there is a vast difference in experience at the client site between project management consultants and software consultants.

    Pros

    Contractual documentation handled expeditiously
Never a delay in getting paid
They mostly leave you alone to do your work while on client site, although this is a plus as well as a minus.

    Cons

    Low salary
No follow up from recruiter after placement
No performance reviews which equals no raises
Discrepancy in consultant pay for same title/responsibilities (consultant with less experience brought in making more than those with tons more experience). Recruiter low balls on salary and shows favoritism
Benefits are not that great-more on the high side

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show your employees that you care, don't just say it. Listen to what the employees are saying as well as being proactive in seeking honest feedback and put action plans in place.

    Pros

Wonderful working environment with the bank, and Gen10 has an excellent relationship with them. They are a well-run organization and with only one exception every single one of the hundreds of people I interacted with at the bank was smart, helpful and very professional. I can't say enough good things about working at the bank.

    Cons

Genesis10 tries hard to treat their employees well but fails in several key areas. The benefits are sub-par and expensive. There is the possibility of promotion inside of Genesis10, but I didn't find out about that possibility until my exit interview. Genesis10 allows employees to work from home SOMETIMES, but the rules surrounding working from home are vague, subjective, and selectively enforced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shore up your policies and make them consistent through the organization. Be clear about what is enforced, when and why. Your employees have little respect for some policies, and I think that is because they haven't been clearly defined and they are not consistently enforced.
