I have been working at Genomic Health full-time

    Pros

On your first day you are handed a book called "Strengths Finder" and you are encouraged to learn about what you truly can bring to the table. The management invests in each employee and empowers them. I feel inspired everyday that I work here and I'm highly motivated. There is no focus on "face time". As long as you contribute and do your part, you are free to have a flexible schedule.

    Cons

Some full time employees can be almost too focused on their work and don't take the time to go for lunch/socialize with the new hires and help them integrate more with the group.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the gummy bears and chocolate, I'm gaining weight!! ;)

I worked at Genomic Health full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You are busy everyday, they pay well, bonus excellent, the people there are all hardworkers and know the product. Great people to work. Great vacation days benefit

    Cons

You automatically start working the first day without proper training. Most of the people there are unorganized and provide the wrong information. The interview process takes forever with phone screens, 1st rounds and 2nd rounds and you will end up meeting with at least 7 people per round which at the end you meet 14 people total. You take so many days off to maybe get a job or a no thank you and your time isn't valuable to us. There is no team in the company everyone works as a individual and are too busy to help others. They have way too many contractors who they want to try out and then after they are done with them hire a regular f/t employee to replace them. They hire people with only high school education and no degrees into executive level roles and don't go by what the job description says. The turnover is high due to the fact there is no work life balance its just work all day, the competitors offer better benefit and pay. The cafeteria food is gross. Not highly recommended if you plan to grow in your career. You have tons of vacation days but when you are so busy its hard to take time off. 401k isn't the best program

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make interviews a priority otherwise you lose valuable candidates. Chose management that would invest in training employees instead of replacing them every few months. Train the management team to put their employees first. There is too much work for one individual. Employees do have a life outside of work let them spend time with their family versus working on projects at home.
